The move marks a pivotal moment in GAC Group's internationalization journey as its first independently constructed and operated overseas factory enters the trial production phase. The initiative is set to establish a fresh development pattern, centered around Thailand and radiating across Southeast Asia.

At the event, Li Songhui, the Head of Production Management Department at GAC AION, shed light on the trends in the new energy vehicle industry and GAC AION's internationalization strategy. The significant characteristics of China's automotive exports in 2023, such as the growing contributions of new energy vehicle and China's domestic brands, increased exports, and the initiation of reverse technology exports, were highlighted. GAC AION's foray into the international market is rooted in the objective of becoming a global leader, overcoming local market development constraints, and shouldering the mission of advancing Chinese brand development. Internationalization stands as a crucial strategy for GAC AION's development and is poised to be the next breakthrough in the automotive industry over the next decade.

GAC AION announced this week its global sales amounted to 24,947 vehicles in Jan. 2024. Notably, its monthly overseas sales exceeded 3,000 units for the first time in the month.
