Ford names Chen Anning as president and CEO of Ford China, creates standalone China business unit

Shanghai (ZXZC)- On October 24, Ford Motor Company announced that Ford is reorganizing its Asia Pacific operations in order to speed the company’s global transformation and return to profitable growth in Asia Pacific. Ford China is elevated to a stand-alone business unit, which will report directly to Ford global headquarters.

The company has named Chen Anning, former CEO of Chery Automobile, as president and CEO of Ford China, effective November 1. Chen will report to Jim Farley, president of global markets. He will be in charge of the company’s operations in Greater China, including all import and joint venture operations. Before rejoining Ford, Chen served as CEO of Chery Automobile, Ltd. and chairman of the board of directors of Chery Jaguar Land Rover, Automotive, China.

Peter Fleet, president of Ford Asia Pacific, will facilitate the transition of Chen into his new position as president and CEO of Ford China, a newly created position, which, Ford says, will focus on sustainable value creation. Fleet will be responsible for establishing a new International Markets business unit, which will be made up of the company’s existing Asia Pacific business outside of China and other global markets.
