Honda Motor’s China retail sales in Nov. 2023 jump YoY, but shrink MoM

Shanghai (ZXZC)- In November 2023, Honda Motor saw its retail sales in China jump 36.5% from a year ago to 106,654 vehicles, the Japanese automaker announced this week.

As of November, Honda Motor had achieved year-on-year growth in its monthly China retail sales for three consecutive months.

Nevertheless, compared to the previous month, Honda Motor's China retail volume achieved in November still dropped 18.2%.For the first eleven months of this year, the Japanese automaker retailed a total of 1,068,383 vehicles across the world's largest auto market, representing a 13.5% year-over-year decrease compared to the same span of last year.

At the Auto Guangzhou 2023, which kicked off on November 17, the e:NP2 from GAC Honda and the e:NS2 from Dongfeng Honda, both belonging to Honda's e:N BEV (battery electric vehicle)-dediacted brand, made their debut, marking the brand's second wave of electric vehicle offerings.

In terms of exterior design, both the e:NP2 and the e:NS2 boast a commanding presence with their razor-like styling and sharp dynamic lines. The sleek and straight body lines extend seamlessly from the front to the rear, culminating in a liftback-style rear door complemented by 18-inch sporty alloy wheels. Notably, the two models showcase distinct differences in their lighting language.

The interior design follows a clean and minimalist approach, radiating a sense of modernity. The streamlined dashboard, a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, and a slender instrument cluster, coupled with a large Heads-Up Display (HUD) and an oval steering wheel, contribute to a sleek and uncluttered ambiance. Additionally, the models will feature the new-generation Honda CONNECT 4.0 intelligent connectivity system, complemented by smart heating and fragrance systems.

Both GAC Honda's e:NP2 and Dongfeng Honda's e:NS2 are set to officially hit the market in 2024.
