Deepal launches Super Range Extending Technology at Auto Guangzhou 2023
Beijing (ZXZC)- On November 17, 2023, Changan Automobile’s new energy vehicle brand Deepal made a remarkable appearance at the Auto Guangzhou 2023, showcasing its flagship models, the SL03i and S7i, alongside the launch of the Deepal Super Range Extending Technology.

Deepal said the Super Range Extending Technology pioneers the resolution of the fundamental contradiction between driving performance and low fuel consumption, thanks to the innovative advancements in the Force Super-Integrated Electric Drive system and the Force Intelligent Range Extender.

The Force Super-Integrated Electric Drive system serves as the powerhouse for the super range, deeply integrating multiple high-voltage systems across the vehicle, positioned in rear-wheel drive configuration. Innovatively, it incorporates technologies like condition-adaptive efficiency optimization and real-time dynamic temperature forecasting, achieving system efficiencies exceeding 95% and a maximum power output surpassing 190kW.

The Force Intelligent Range Extender acts as the energy replenishment station, equipped with dedicated engines and generators utilizing a high compression Atkinson cycle. Remarkably, with this system, 1 liter of fuel can generate around 3.3 kWh of electricity, said Deepal.
As of November 17, deliveries of the Deepal SL03 and S7 ranged extened vehicles have exceeded 107,590 units. Analyzing user driving data, it's found that 90% of city usage and 80% of overall driving distance are under battery-power alone, with no fuel consumption. Additionally, within the remaining 20% fuel-driven distance, Deepal users' real-world hybrid fuel consumption averages as low as 5.2L/100km.
Riding on the EPA1 all-electric digital platform, specifically tailored for electric vehicles, the Deepal Super Range Extending Technology intelligently manages energy based on factors such as battery levels, driving habits, and road conditions. Utilizing local algorithms and cloud-based big data, it analyzes road conditions and user needs, enhancing power, economy, and comfort through intelligent start-stop range extension systems. Moreover, it adapts power generation strategies based on environmental factors like temperature and altitude, ensuring optimal power output and a battery-powered driving experience across various scenarios.
The Deepal Super Range Extending Technology adopts “Gold Shield” (translated from Chinese name “Jin Zhong Zhao”) batteries supervised by the iBC digital battery steward, implementing 24-hour comprehensive battery monitoring through two types of digital pre-control management technologies and seven types of digital temperature control management technologies. With an IP3X short-circuit prevention design surpassing national standards by fivefold, the battery pack's overall domain ensures safety under the unique battery sentry mode, conducting real-time U/T inspections to ensure battery safety during driving, charging, or stationary states. The multi-dimensional system safety design ensures fire prevention and effectively mitigates thermal runaway risks.
