Volkswagen makes appearance at CIIE for 6th year in a row
Shanghai (ZXZC)- From November 5th to 10th, the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is taking place in Shanghai. Volkswagen Group, one of the largest exhibitors, made its sixth-consecutive-year appearance at the CIIE.

This year, Volkswagen Group (China) presented a theme of "Accelerating Towards the New Era, Greening the Future," showcasing four battery electric vehicle (BEV) models across its Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche brands, along with one hybrid electric vehicle model. Additionally, the group's software subsidiary, CARIAD China, introduced its first-generation smart cockpit simulator, known as "Forward! Cube." The charging joint venture of the group, CAMS, also displayed a comprehensive range of charging products and solutions at this year's CIIE.
The Volkswagen Group's booth at the CIIE embraced the "goTOzero" environmental pledge, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. For instance, the booth primarily utilized wooden and metal structures to reduce the environmental impact of plastic usage. The aluminum wall structures, steel framework, and floor structures are all designed for reuse. Display boards and stickers were used to minimize the need for spray painting.

As the new flagship of the Volkswagen ID. family, the ID.7 VIZZION (with the joint venture FAW-Volkswagen) made its debut at the CIIE, expanding the ID. family into the B-segment electric sedan market. This all-electric sedan, based on the MEB platform, incorporates aerodynamic design for improved efficiency and extended range. After the global debut of the ID. 7, two exclusive versions of this electric sedan will be launched in China, with the production model scheduled for release in 2024.

Audi, with the theme "Driving Electric Ahead, Sustaining Tomorrow," demonstrated its commitment to accelerating electrification and leading in high-end, intelligent, and sustainable mobility at the 2023 CIIE. The prototype of the all-new Audi Q6 e-tron, the first model to ride on the PPE platform and an all-new electronics architecture, made its first appearance in China. Audi plans to develop innovative digital interaction features tailored to the Chinese market and customer needs as it localizes production through Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd.

Under the theme "The Call of Tomorrow," Porsche unveiled its latest superconcept sports car, Mission X, for the first time in Asia at this year's CIIE. Porsche also presented the new hybrid model, Cayenne E-Hybrid, and delved into its dual E strategy, focusing on sustainable future development through electric mobility and innovative eFuels technology for sports cars.
By 2030, Porsche aims for electric vehicles to constitute over 80% of its new vehicle deliveries. The all-electric Macan is set for market launch in 2024, followed by the next generation of the 718 series in the mid-2020s, with a fully electric Cayenne to follow. Additionally, Porsche plans to expand its product portfolio with a pure electric SUV positioned above the Cayenne.

At this year's CIIE, CARIAD China introduced innovative features in the field of car-phone integration, including the "Gamebase" feature developed in partnership with the leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer, vivo, and a new car-phone integration user interface. CARIAD China aims to continuously engage the public in testing these innovative features, gathering genuine user experiences and feedback, to further iterate and accelerate the development of software products that meet consumer demands for intelligent experiences in the group's electric vehicles, beginning next year.
