All-new HAVAL H5 hits market, starting at 122,800 yuan
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On August 21, HAVAL, the SUV-dedicated brand under Great Wall Motor, officially put the all-new HAVAL H5 onto the market. Coming with six trim levels, the new model features a price spectrum spanning from 122,800 to 157,800 yuan. It is born from the TANK platform and features a body-on-frame construction.

In terms of its exterior, the all-new HAVAL H5 dons an entirely fresh design language, exuding a rugged charm reminiscent of American tough-style SUVs. The chrome-adorned front grille features the HAVAL logo, flanked by bold chrome accents, while the concise and functional design of the front fascia showcases a touch of elegance. Notably, the sizable polygonal headlamp clusters lend the vehicle a captivating gaze.

On the sides, the all-new H5 boasts slightly protruding wheel arches, adding a muscular aesthetic, while the stout C-pillar and black-painted D-pillar bring it closer to the style of certain American SUVs. The integration of multi-spoke alloy wheels contributes to the vehicle's fashionable appeal.

Moving to the rear, a minimalistic approach defines the design, with vertically aligned taillights connected by a decorative strip, and dual rectangular exhaust outlets at the bottom. Measuring 5,190mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,835mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,140mm, the all-new HAVAL H5 stakes its claim as a large-sized SUV. Further underlining its capability, the vehicle features a 25° approach angle, 22° departure angle, 200mm ground clearance, and a water-wading depth of 600mm.

Inside, the all-new HAVAL H5 offers a balance between conventional ruggedness and contemporary trends. Sporting a floating instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, the model retains a number of physical buttons in the center console. Noteworthy is its capacious cargo space, boasting a maximum depth of 1,965mm and a voluminous capacity of 2,116 liters.

Powering the all-new H5 is a 2.0L turbocharged engine, delivering a robust 218 horsepower (160 kW) in the gasoline version, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The diesel variant offers a maximum power output of 166 horsepower (122 kW). The body-on-frame construction incorporates a front double-wishbone independent suspension and a rear five-link solid axle suspension, complemented by a part-time four-wheel-drive system and an Eaton mechanical differential lock.
