Shanghai (ZXZC)- On August 8, United Automotive Electronic Systems Co., Ltd. ("UAES"), the joint venture between China's Zhonglian Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd. and Germany's Robert Bosch GmbH, commemorated the 5th anniversary of its Taicang factory's inauguration, and officially announced the beginning of the operation at the Taicang factory's second phase, according to a post on UAES' WeChat account.

Established in August 2018, UAES' Taicang factory emerged as a pivotal production hub for the company's new energy vehicle (NEV)-related products, specializing in producing electric motors, inverters, and power modules. After five years of steadfast dedication, extensive manufacturing expertise, and expanding industrial scale, the facility has grown into a prominent benchmark factory in the realm of NEV core components.
Covering approximately 20,000 square meters, the Phase 2 expansion of UAES Taicang factory encompasses two electric motor production lines, one inverter production line, and three power module production lines. The facility will see the formal mass production of the latest generation X-Pin electric motors and in-house developed silicon carbide (SiC) power modules. Anticipated production for the full year of 2023 is set at nearly 700,000 electric motors, 450,000 inverters, and nearly 600,000 power modules.
Both the X-Pin electric motors and SiC power modules are slated to be integrated into UAES' upcoming next-generation integrated inverters. This integration promises to elevate operational efficiency, achieve high-level module integration, and cater to a broader array of applications, satisfying diverse customer demands.
Just a month before the inauguration of the Phase 2 project, UAES achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing the cumulative sale of 2 million electric motor units.
From its inaugural electric motor project IMG290 putting into volume production in 2013 to reaching the first million electric motor sales milestone in early 2022, UAES embarked on a decade-long journey. Impressively, the company achieved the second million-unit milestone in less than two years.
