Geely Automobile logs 13% YoY rise in July 2023 auto sales
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited ("Geely Automobile" or "the Group") sold 138,135 vehicles in July 2023, representing a year-on-year jump of roughly 13%, according to the Group’s announcement issued on August 2.
Of the vehicles the Group sold last month, 41,014 units were new energy vehicles (NEVs), including 28,145 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and 12,869 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). Compared to the same period of 2022, Geely Automobile’s NEV sales in July jumped 28%.

For the first seven months of this year, Geely Automobile’s cumulative auto sales also rose 13% from a year earlier to 832,180 units. Its year-to-date NEV sales amounted to 198,903 units, up 40% over the previous year.
Breaking down the sales data by specific brands, there were 104,480 Geely-branded vehicles sold last month, representing an 8% year-on-year growth. In the Jan.-Jul. period, the Geely brand saw its total sales grow 10% from the year-ago period to 657,730 units. ZEEKR, the Group’s premium electric vehicle-dedicated brand, sold a total of 54,672 vehicles (+127% YoY) in the first seven months of the year, 12,039 units (+140% YoY) of which were sold in July.
Besides, LYNK & CO scored a 15% year-on-year increase in its July 2023 sales, which stood at 17,201 units. Its Jan.-Jul. sales climbed 8% over a year ago to 99,238 units. Livan, the brand co-owned with Lifan Technology, saw its Jul. sales drop 19% year over year to 4,415 units, which resulted in a year-to-date volume of 20,540 units (-10% YoY).Geely Automobile also announced a monthly export volume of 20,482 units for the month of July, reflecting a 56% year-on-year surge. As of July 2023, the Group had exported 141,667 vehicles (+41% YoY) so far this year.
