According to the patent abstract, the sleep assistance system comprises a camera facing the seat to capture video information of the occupants on the seat. A central controller connected to the camera receives the video information and determines the passengers' drowsiness level. When drowsiness is detected, the central controller sends out seat adjustment and/or audio-visual adjustment instructions. The seat controller, connected to both the central controller and the seat, receives the seat adjustment instructions and adjusts the seat accordingly. Meanwhile, the intelligent cabin controller, linked to the central controller and the vehicle's multimedia system, receives the audio-visual adjustment instructions and adjusts the in-car music and/or video playback.

The patent's background technology introduction highlights the significance of vehicle comfort as one of the fundamental and crucial aspects of vehicle performance. Many passengers experience fatigue during long journeys and desire better rest opportunities while traveling. However, factors such as in-cabin noise and uncomfortable seating positions often hinder restful sleep.

This patented system addresses the aforementioned challenges by detecting the passengers' conditions and adjusting corresponding settings, such as air conditioning, seat adjustments, and in-car environment, thus significantly enhancing passenger comfort and effectively assisting them in achieving better rest during their journey.
