JAC Group's May auto export soars 89.86% YoY
Beijing (ZXZC)- In May 2023, major Chinese automaker JAC Group boasted a double-digit surge in both monthly sales and export volumes.

In the fifth month of this year, JAC Group sold a total of 48,443 vehicles, which jumped 37% year on year. Among the vehicles sold in the past month, 12,013 units were battery-electric passenger vehicles, accounting for 24.8% of the company's overall sales volume.
In the Jan.-May period, JAC Group’s cumulative auto sales amounted to 231,340 vehicles, hiking up 20.42% from a year ago. Cumulative sales of battery-electric passenger cars summed up to 50,923 units in the same period.
In the past month, JAC Group saw 16,782 vehicles shipped to overseas market, representing an impressive 89.86% leap from the year-ago period. In the first five months of this year, the automaker’s cumulative export volume came in at 74,963 units, soaring 95.34% year over year.
In a bid to further strengthen its layout in the new energy vehicle market, JAC Group launched the Yiwei brand. Pre-sale of the brand’s first intelligent electric vehicle, the EV 3 ("Yiwei 3" in Chinese Pinyin), was kicked off on May 20. The new pure-electric compact car starts at 97,900 yuan.
The EV 3 is built on the DI platform, and is equipped with the world's first 9-in-1 electric drive system and a zero-heat-diffusion honeycomb battery, forming an exceptionally powerful powertrain. Currently, the EV 3 offers two versions with a respective range of 405 km and 505 km, and comes in six different configurations.
