BYD Song Pro DM-i Champion edition to go on sale on May 25
The BYD Song Pro DM-i’s Champion edition will hit the market on May 25, the automaker said this week. The new product still carries BYD’s DM-i super hybrid system in its powertrain. In addition to the existing 51km and 110km versions, the refreshed model also introduces a new 71km-range variant.

Greater Power to build 36GWh energy storage battery production base in Qingdao
Chinese lithium battery maker Guangzhou Greater Power Technology Co., Ltd. (“Greater Power”) announced on May 22 it plans to construct the Energy Storage Project No. 1 in Chengyang District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province, with a total investment of approximately 13 billion yuan (the final investment amount will be based on actual investment).
The project is set to be implemented in three phases, which will feature a total energy storage battery production capacity of 36GWh per year. Ground-breaking of the first phase will begin before the end of Sept. 2023.
Changan Automobile plans to enter European markets in 2024
Chinese legacy automaker Changan Automobile recently disclosed during an investor inquiry session its accelerated strategic plan to expand into five major regional markets, including Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
By 2024, the company aims to establish a presence in Southeast Asia and Europe, with a future goal of entering over 90% of the entire global markets.

BYD's F brand rumored to be named 'Fangchengbao' in Chinese
Shenzhen BYD Auto R&D Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of BYD Company Ltd., recently saw its corporate name changed to Shenzhen Fangchengbao (translated to “Shenzhen Formula Leopard”) Auto Sales Co., Ltd., with its registered capital surging 900% to 50 million yuan at the same time, according to the Chinese corporate information inquiry platform Tianyancha.
It is noteworthy that BYD applied for the registration of the "Fangchengbao" trademark in August of last year. Some industry insiders speculate that the Chinese name for the BYD F brand might be "Fangchengbao," suitable for automobiles and electric transportation vehicles.
Geometrical-PAL, Keysight Technologies partner on automotive perception technology development
