The technology advocacy campaign "IT'S TiME" by FAW-Toyota highlights its steadfast commitment and capability in advancing intelligent technology applications, paving the way for a victorious future, said the automaker. "TiME" represents the initials of four key phrases: "TOYOTA," "Intelligence," "Multi-scene," and "Electrification." This acronym embodies FAW-Toyota's adherence to Toyota's development strategy and signifies their leap into a new realm of intelligence, diversification, and electrification.

The tech concept encompasses four major intelligent technologies, collectively referred to as the "4T." The first T stands for the initial letter of “TOYOTA”, and the other three refer to the T-Pilot intelligent driver assistance system, the Toyota Connect intelligent connectivity system, and the Toyota Space intelligent cockpit.

At the same time, the all-new Corolla, which boasts the 4T technologies, officially hit the market with nine trim levels offered, including six oil-fueled variants (116,800 yuan-132,800 yuan) and three HEV trims (131,800 yuan-155,800 yuan).

The new Corolla, featuring Toyota’s fifth-generation intelligent hybrid system, boasts significant improvements in both power performance and fuel economy. With a 1.8L Atkinson cycle engine paired with an E-CVT electronic continuously variable transmission, it achieves a maximum power output of 72 kW. The high-output driving motor delivers a maximum power of 70 kW and peak torque of 185 N·m, resulting in a combined power output of 101 kW, which is 12% higher than the previous generation. Despite the enhanced performance, the combined fuel consumption under WLTC conditions has been reduced to a 4.06L/100km.

The entire lineup of the new Corolla comes standard with the T-Pilot intelligent driving assist system, which includes such features as the PCS pre-collision safety system (with pedestrian detection), DRCC dynamic radar cruise control system (with full-speed range following function), LTA lane tracing assist system, and AHB automatic high beam system.

Additionally, the 1.5L gasoline version and 1.8L HEV version introduce the EDSS emergency driving stop system and RSA road sign recognition assist system. Notably, the PDA predictive driving assist system can detect obstacles such as pedestrians, cyclists, or parked vehicles in front of or within blind spots. When a collision risk is detected, it displays a warning on the instrument panel to prompt the driver, preventing the vehicle from getting too close to the obstacle.

The new Corolla also carries the Toyota Connect intelligent connectivity system as standard across its entire series. The 1.8L HEV’s flagship version also introduces the digital key function, allowing users to use their smartphones instead of physical keys for operations like unlocking/locking doors and starting the vehicle. When users are away from home, they can even share vehicle access permissions with family and friends.

Furthermore, the new Corolla supports remote air conditioning, remote vehicle locating, remote locking, remote diagnostics, emergency assistance (with safety airbag integration), intelligent driving scores, health reports, and vehicle condition inquiries. These functions not only enable users to have real-time access to vehicle information, but also allow them to receive professional, efficient, and convenient services from FAW-Toyota in case of vehicle malfunctions.

The Toyota Space intelligent cabin is a standard feature for all trims of the 1.5L gasoline version and 1.8L HEV version. It features a 7-inch TFT multifunctional information display screen, while the size is upgraded to 12.3 inches on the flagship version. Besides, the 10.25-inch multimedia intelligent online navigation system boasts a resolution of 1920x720, ensuring clear visibility even under bright lighting conditions.

Moreover, the all-new intelligent voice interaction system can comprehend all commands within 30 seconds with just one wake-up. It also supports multi-intent recognition and execution. With the "one-shot" feature, you can speak the wake-up word and the command simultaneously without any waiting in between. For example, saying "Hello Toyota, I want to go to somewhere" allows you to effortlessly control the air conditioning, windows, enjoy music, or listen to audiobooks. Additionally, the new Corolla supports CarPlay, CarLife, and HiCar, seamlessly connecting with all mainstream smartphones.
