SGMW, Guangzhou Port sign strategic cooperation framework agreement
SAIC-GM-Wuling (“SGMW”) and Guangzhou Port Company Limited (“Guangzhou Port”) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on May 11. As part of the collaboration, both parties will provide mutual support in comprehensive logistics services, such as roll-on/roll-off transport, full-container load transport, knock-down container transport, sea-rail intermodal transport, ground handling, and customs clearance.

Chery Automobile to recall 16,640 vehicles
Chery Automobile has filed a car recall plan with China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), planning to recall a total of 16,640 Tiggo 8 PROs produced between Mar. 8, 2022 and Aug. 18, 2022. The plan was implemented from May 12, 2023.
Xiaomi Auto files patent for autonomously cool-down cabin system
Xiaomi Auto Technology Co., Ltd. (Xiaomi Auto), the car-making venture of Chinese tech giant Xiaomi, filed for a patent categorized as a vehicle control method, device, storage medium, and vehicle. The patent was recently published, according to Chinese corporate database Tianyancha.
The patent abstract reveals that it enables the vehicle cabin to cool down to a suitable temperature after the owner leaves and locks the car. The method described in the patent includes determining the target wake-up time of the vehicle based on real time, future weather information, and the initial temperature inside the vehicle at the time of locking.
China launches V2X-Seq dataset for cooperative V2X research
On May 11, the Beijing High-level Automated Driving Demonstration Area (BJHAD), in collaboration with Tsinghua University’s Institute for AI Industry Research (AIR), Baidu Apollo, the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence (BAAI), and Beijing Car Network Technology Development Co., Ltd., launched the V2X-Seq, the world's first real-road-scenario-based time-sequence V2X dataset.
The dataset is now available for download and usage by users in China, filling a crucial gap in the industry by accelerating the research on V2X time-sequence perception and cooperative trajectory prediction.
