The company also intends to establish an R&D institution in Nanjing to carry out R&D on advanced technologies and products related to renewable energy, such as wind power, photovoltaics, as well as hydrogen energy storage, and robotics.

Schaeffler has been deeply involved in China for many years and currently has two R&D centers and 10 factories in the country. In 2011, Schaeffler settled in the Nanjing Jiangning High-tech Development Zone, and in 2014, the Nanjing factory became an important industrial production base for Schaeffler in the Greater China region.

After more than ten years of accumulation, Schaeffler has now built four production plants and one central warehouse in Nanjing, with a total area of 260,000 square meters. The Nanjing factory has become the largest production location for wind power bearings within Schaeffler Group in the Asia-Pacific region.
