Car and City: Huawei-powered AITO registers 3,561 vehicles in Mar. 2023
Beijing (ZXZC)- SERES Auto, Chinese ICT giant Huawei’s first official automaking partner, saw its monthly auto registrations reach 3,565 vehicles in March 2023, which climbed up 20.97% year on year, according to the data compiled by ZXZC Auto Research Institute (GARI).

Owning two auto brands, namely, SERES and AITO, SERES Auto is affiliated to SERES Group, which was formerly known as Chongqing Sokon Industry Group. The two auto brands all have Huawei as their partner.
In terms of registrations of individual models, in the third month of 2023, there were only 4 SERES SF5s registered across China, which were all registered in Shenyang, the provincial capital of Liaoning Province.
As to AITO-branded models, the AITO M5 (REEV version) saw its monthly registration volume come in at 1,029 vehicles in the past month. Notably, March 2023 marked a full year of delivery for the AITO M5 REEV, since delivery of the model kicked off in March 2022. With 75 M5 REEVs registered, Shenzhen ranked first regarding the M5 REEV registrations last month, while Chongqing was the runner-up with 48 units registered.
As to the pure-electric variant of the M5, the M5 EV, Shanghai sit at the top of the list regarding the model’s registrations, which came in at 156 units, far surpassing the second-place occupant, Shenzhen, who recorded a registration volume of 68 units in March.
Finally, March registrations of AITO’s higher-end model, the M7, amounted to 1,410 units in total, which made the M7 the best-selling model of SERES Auto in the past month. With 137 M7s registered, Chongqing beat Shenzhen to crown in terms of M7 registrations in the month with a seven-unit slight difference.
According to data compiled by GARI, a total of 3,561 AITO-branded vehicles were registered across China last month. The usual winners, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Wuhan, all cracked the top 5 rankings in regards to AITO vehicle registrations in March. Notably, aside from Beijing, the rest nine cities on the list were are located in Southern China, where the weather is not extreme during winter.
In a bid to further strengthen its product competitiveness and boost sales, AITO introduced a new variant to its M5 family, the M5 Zhija ("intelligent driving") edition, which is installed with Huawei’s HarmonyOS 3.0 smart cockpit and the HUAWEI ADS 2.0 advanced intelligent driving system.

While the HarmonyOS 3.0 cockpit brings users an elevated experience in human-machine interaction, the HUAWEI ADS 2.0 focuses on driving safety and convenience.
First of all, the HUAWEI ADS 2.0 system does not rely on HD maps for high-level intelligent driving functions. Moreover, it also has leading competitiveness in perception hardware. The body of the AITO M5 intelligent driving edition is equipped with 1 overhead LiDAR, 3 millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars. These hardware can achieve ultra-long-range perception of dynamic and static targets, further ensuring the safety level of driving.
In addition, the intelligent driving edition of the M5 features an extended CLTC range of 1,425km. With these upgrades, the new variant is priced from 279,800 yuan.
