XPeng upgrades over 160 self-operated supercharging stations in Q1 2023
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On Apr. 4, XPeng announced the achievement it has so far made under its S4 super-fast charging facility upgrade plan, which was initiated earlier this year. Up until now, it has completed the upgrade of over 160 self-operated supercharging stations.
XPeng launched the S4 super-fast charging station in August last year, which was in-house developed by the company. The maximum output power of the station reaches 480 kW, and the peak output current of a single pile is 670 A.

The 160 stations newly upgraded are capable of S4 super-fast charging and can meet the maximum power demands of multiple vehicle models. The upgraded stations have covered 91 cities across China.
In additon, XPeng has already launched a total of 186 S4 super-fast charging stations nationwide.
In 2023, XPeng will continue to expand its S4 super-fast charging network layout, and is expected to build about 500 stations with S4 super-fast charging service capability within the year.
According to the startup's previous plans, XPeng also plans to complete the coverage of the S4 super-fast charging network in key cities and along core expressways across the country this year.
By 2025, the company plans to build another 2,000 super-fast charging stations.
XPeng also announced the addition of 349 third-party stations in the first quarter that are applicable to users who benefit from XPeng's free charging service.
As of April 1, 2023, XPeng has seen over 2,200 charging stations come online, including over 1,000 self-operated charging stations.
