Honda Motor sees Q1 2023 China sales dip 37.7% YoY
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Honda Motor delivered 82,041 vehicles in China in Mar. 2023, facing a year-on-year drop of 18.8%, the Japanese automaker announced today.
As for the performance of two joint ventures, GAC Honda saw its monthly deliveries tumble 22.1% from the previous year to 41,813 units in Mar. 2023, while Dongfeng Motor's Mar. deliveries declined 15.1% over a year earlier to 40,228 units.

For the first three months of 2023, Honda Motor’s cumulative sales in China amounted to 220,367 units, shrinking 37.7% compared to the same span of last year.
Of the vehicles sold in the first quarter this year, 49,788 units were electrified vehicles, which include hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), and battery electric vehicles (BEV).
GAC Honda saw its Jan.-Mar. sales dwindle 36.2% over a year earlier to 117,926 units, while Dongfeng Honda also suffered a 39.4% year-on-year decline in its year-to-date sales, which came in at 102,441 units.
At the forthcoming Auto China 2023, the mass-produced Honda e:N2, the second e:N series model, will make its world’s debut. Designed by Honda Motor’s China team, the new model will ride on the BEV-dedicated “e:N Architecture F”.
