According to the online notice, Changan Mazda advised dealers to organize orders and clear any invalid orders from the system.

Changan Mazda’s spokesperson denied the rumors, saying no such information was received yet, but a customer service representative confirmed the news on the official hotline, adding that the spare parts for these models would be available for ten years.

If these models are in fact discontinued, Changan Mazda will have only four models left in its product lineup, down from seven.

The company's 2022 annual auto registrations stood at 107,615 units, which have been declining for five consecutive years. The best-selling model was the Mazda3 Axela with a yearly registration volume of 62,480 units, accounting for nearly 60% of the automaker’s total volume. However, the CX-30 EV, the joint venture’s first electrified product, registered only 337 units in the past year.

The three rumored to-be-discontinued models, the CX-8, the CX-4, and the Atenza, saw a respective yearly registration volume of 1,281 units, 6,573 units, and 7,712 units in 2022.
