U Power launches China’s first production-ready skateboard chassis-by-wire product
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On Mar. 7, U Power, a Chinese skateboard chassis developer, held a significant tech event “UP DAY 2023”, where the startup unveiled the country's first skateboard chassis-by-wire ready for mass production.
The new product, called UP Super Chassis, is built on the UP CCCA (Communication, Computing and Control Architecture) and the UP VMC integrated motion domain control technology. It is expected to work as the "integrated software & hardware automotive operating system" for intelligent electric vehicles, said Li Peng, founder and CEO of U Power.

According to the company, the UP CCCA is composed of the UP Hub and the UP HPVC, dedicated to providing such industry-leading capabilities as real-time transmission of countless data, high-speed computing, and agile vehicle motion control for intelligent vehicles.
To be specific, the UP Hub possesses rich communications interface resources, covering all mainstream interfaces currently available in the vehicle and supporting the automotive-grade PCIe high-bandwidth bus standard. It can support the simultaneous high-speed data transmission of up to eight 8 mega-pixel cameras.
The UP HPVC is the industry's first open automotive supercomputing platform with flexible computing power, and has currently partnered with Horizon Robotics, NVIDIA, and Renesas Electronics, said U Power.
Both UP HPVC and UP Hub feature a plug-and-play capability to meet the needs of different levels of vehicle intelligence.
The company also added its in-house developed UP VMC has achieved integrated control of chassis motions for the first time in the industry. Using this technology, the brake-by-wire, steer-by-wire, and suspension-by-wire systems can be uniformly configured, developed, and computed, so that the development efficiency will be largely improved and the development costs will be greatly reduced.
U Power has started two projects based on its U Super Chassis, one of them is an electric van.

Dubbed U Power Super Van, the electric van is the first product to ride on the U Super Chassis. It has over 15% of cargo space than its rivals but weighs a lot less than them.
At the event, Li Peng announced that U Power has received orders from both Chinese and overseas companies for the van, which is expected to be delivered later this year.
Moreover, U Power has also joined hands with fblife.com, a website for off-roader fans, to tailor vehicles and experiences, for off-roader scenarios.
