In terms of exterior design, the main changes to the appearance of the new model are concentrated on the front and rear bumpers. The front bumper has an overall sturdy design, with a more compact front grille, and a sporty spoiler in the back that gives the car a dynamic feel. The new FREE model also has a camera added to the side fender, which is expected to improve its intelligent driving assistance capabilities.
The new car measures 4,905mm long, 1,950mm wide, 1,660mm/1,645mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,960mm. The tires can be chosen from two options, 255/50 R19 and 255/45 R20.
As for driving and control performance, the all-new VOYAH FREE uses a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system, equipped with a dual-motor intelligent four-wheel drive powertrain that churns out 160 kW at the front and 200 kW at the rear.
In terms of intelligence, as shown in MIIT’s pictures, an "apollo Tech" logo visible on the rear trunk of the car indicates that the new VOYAH Free is expected to adopt Baidu's Apollo intelligent driving assistance system as an add-on feature. This Apollo system integrates intelligent driving technologies with a smart cabin, and can achieve high-speed efficient lane changing and RPA remote parking functions.
