Dongfeng Honda expects electrified vehicle to make up 50% of annual new vehicle sales by 2025
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Dongfeng Honda, the joint venture between Honda Motor and Dongfeng Motor Group, expected electrified vehicles to account for 50% of its annual vehicle sales by the year of 2025, the automaker revealed at a media briefing on Feb. 13.
The Sino-Japanese joint venture said it plans to deploy several electrified vehicle models powered by its i-MMD technology, including two e:HEV and two e:PHEV models.
Meanwhile, it will make efforts to cement the market presence of the e:NS all-electric brand and products.

Moreover, Dongfeng Honda will continue to upgrade its product lineup with several heavyweight models to be launched, including a new member of the R-V family, a high-end SUV’s facelift, as well as a flagship sedan model’s next-generation version. According to a local media outlet, the latter two are likely to be the mid-cycle refresh for the UR-V and the new-generation Inspire.
Notably, Dongfeng Honda disclosed that it will launch a fire new self-owned brand.
As for sales network, Dongfeng Honda will create a brand new store format, including upgrading the existing stores’ visual identity, and building 35 shopping-mall-based shops in 2023.
Honda Motor will no longer roll out new oil-fueled vehicle models in China from 2030.
