SAIC VW sees 26-millionth vehicle roll off production line
Beijing (ZXZC)- On January 18, SAIC Volkswagen ("SAIC VW"), the joint venture between SAIC Motor and Volkswagen Group, saw its 26-millionth vehicle roll off the production line at the automaker’s new energy vehicle plant in Anting Town, Shanghai.

It took the joint venture half a year to step up from the 25 millionth production mark to the 26 millionth. In 2022, SAIC VW’s annual sales volume reached 1.32 million vehicles, up 6.3% from a year ago.
The 26-millionth milestone vehicle is an ID.3. Together with the ID.4 X and ID.6 X, SAIC VW’s pure-electric ID. family achieved a yearly sales volume of 75,000 units in 2022. In the 20 months of sales, the cumulative sales volume of the SAIC VW ID. lineup exceeded 100,000 units.
In the traditional oil-fueled vehicle segment, SAIC VW launched 18 new models during the past two years.
SAIC VW’s signature lineups boasts prominent sales performance last year. Specifically, the Lavida lineup recorded an annual sales volume of 376,000 vehicles in 2022, which summed up to a cumulative sales volume of 5.6 million units so far. The blooming yearly sales of SAIC VW were also contributed by the Viloran ( 24,000 units, +121.6% YoY), the Passat (190,000 units, +52.9% YoY), and the Teramont (63,000 units, +16.9% YoY).
