Great Wall Motor sees annual overseas sales jump 21.28% YoY in 2022
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Great Wall Motor ("GWM") sold 1,067,523 vehicles in 2022, marking the seventh year in a row to record an annual sales volume exceeding 1 million units.
Compared to the previous year, GWM saw its 2022 sales fall 16.66%.
According to GWM's data, the company sold 173,180 vehicles in overseas markets last year, indicating a 21.28% year-on-year jump.
As of Jul. 2022, GWM had cumulatively sold over 1 million vehicles outside of China. In Oct. last year, its monthly overseas sales volume surpassed 20,000 units for the first time.
Of the full-year auto sales in 2022, 15.27% were contributed by the vehicle models priced above 200,000 yuan ($29,540), rising 5 percentage points over the previous year.

Among brands, only TANK scored a robust year-on-year growth (46.45%) in 2022 sales. The other four brands, namely, HAVAL, WEY, Great Wall Pick-up, and ORA all faced a downward movement in annual sales.
In Dec. 2022, GWM saw its monthly sales plunge 52.3% from a year earlier to 77,442 units. None of its brands obtained a year-on-year rise in Dec. sales.
The automaker sold a total of 131,834 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in 2022, 11,101 units of which were sold in the last month.
GWM said it plans to roll out over 10 NEV models in 2023.
