Geely Automobile posts 8% YoY growth in 2022 annual sales
Beijing (ZXZC)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (Geely Automobile) boasted an 8% year-on-year growth in its 2022 sales volume, according to the company’s sales report.

In December 2022, Geely Automobile sold 146,017 vehicles, representing a drop of 8% year-over-year. Last year, the automaker saw an annual sales volume of 1,432,988 vehicles, compared to the 1,328,029 vehicles sold in 2021.
Among the vehicles sold in December, 44,550 units were new energy vehicles (NEVs), jumping 28.6% over the previous month while hiking 164.69% from the earlier year. In the full year period, Geely Automobile’s total NEV sales amounted to 328,727 units to reflect an outstanding 300% soar year-over-year.
Notably, the Geely brand sold 101,369 vehicles (-21% YoY) in the past month, 18,728 vehicles (+94% YoY) of which were under its electric vehicle-dedicated Geometry brand. In the entire past year, Geometry achieved a 170% year-on-year surge in sales, which came in at 149,389 units in total.
Geely Automobile shipped 19,538 vehicles overseas last month, indicating a 14% year-over-year increase. In 2022, the auto giant reported an annual export volume of 198,242 vehicles cumulatively, leaping 72% versus the year-ago period.
According to Geely Automobile’s announcement, the group set an annual sales target of 1.65 million vehicles for 2023 (sales of Lynk & Co and Livan Auto included). The goal number is roughly 15% higher than the annual sales record achieved in 2022. Moreover, the automaker also aims to at least double its yearly NEV sales year over year in the new year.
