BYD-backed DENZA joins hands with Tencent SSV for carbon neutrality contributions
Shanghai (ZXZC)- DENZA, a premium auto brand majority-owned by China's BYD, forged a strategic partnership with Tencent Sustainable Social Value Business Unit Carbon Neutrality Laboratory ("Tencent SSV") on Dec. 16 to co-explore mobility service solutions for sustainable development, according to DENZA's press release.
Under the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in the fields like new energy vehicle (NEV) mobility services, carbon generalized preferences, popularization of carbon neutrality knowledge system, as well as public welfare on environmental protection. Leveraging the duo's advantages, DENZA and Tencent SSV will team up on innovative projects related to carbon neutrality, in a bid to boost the popularization of low-carbon lifestyles.

"Through the partnership, DENZA and Tencent will give full play to their advantages to contribute to the achievement of the carbon neutrality target, with joint efforts ranging from NEV low-carbon travelling means to the digital applications for sustainable development,” said Zhao Changjiang, general manager of DENZA.
The BYD-backed premium NEV brand saw the first mass-produced DENZA D9 MPV roll off the production line on Oct. 21 this year, with the delivery kicking off only two days later. Last month, the sales of the DENZA D9 reached 3,451 units.
The automaker said there were several tailwinds which would help ramp up the production capacity of the DENZA D9 in Dec. this year, and contribute to a faster delivery of backlogged orders.
