Beijing (ZXZC)- BeyonCa, the luxury smart electric vehicle brand founded by former Volkswagen China’s iconic figure, Soh Weiming, appointed Lucas Colombo as its China Chief Designer on December 7.

Lucas holds 21 years of experience in design for luxury cars, yachts, and private jets, including 14 years at Mercedes-Benz where he was responsible for design and team management, leading the interior designs of many classic models. 

As the Chief Designer in China, Lucas disclosed that he and his designer team are considering how to better integrate the unique Chinese culture and values into the vehicle design.

As a new comer to the electric vehicle playfield, the startup chooses to go beyond the car to redefine the vehicle and restructure interaction between cars and people, as implied in its name, BeyonCa.

BeyonCa’s first vehicle model, the GT Opus 1, exemplifies the personality of a next-generation super premium EV, designed by a team with decades of experience creating super premium and luxury cars.

"All the details in GT Opus 1 show the care we've taken to create the BeyonCa experience. Take for example the 'Light of Life' logo, the way it comes alive when the owner approaches, then spreading its light, waking the entire frontend design. Also, whether it's the V-shaped lines seen from different angles from the outside, to an interior design that allows customers to define their individuality with luxurious and bespoke choices, we've spared no effort to infuse qualities that will define a super-premium EV" said Dirk van Braeckel, Chief Design Officer of BeyonCa.
