From the grand launch of the AITO brand, its first production model, the AITO M5, to the flagship trim launch ceremony this time, HUAWEI has always played a leading role, whereas the presence of Sokon Group, the holding company to SERES was diminished.

Feeling threatened, Sokon Group released a report on investor relations on March 17th, the day after HUAWEI’s launch party, stressing that Sokon Group is definitely not a manufacturer to HUAWEI.

Sokon Group said that its cooperation with HUAWEI set a precedent for automakers and ICT companies. Through the partnership, Sokon Group is able to greatly lower the sales cost by utilizing HUAWEI’s distribution channel. Even though HUAWEI takes a cut of every car they sold as sales service fee, the rest of the income still belong to Sokon Group entirely.

On the other hand, Sokon Group disclosed that it is introducing a six-seat mid-to-large-size SUV model in 2022. The company is also developing a new full-size SUV model scheduled to debut in 2023. Moreover, Sokon Group plans to introduce a battery-electric model this year.
