FAW-Volkswagen's 25 millionth vehicle roll off line

Beijing (ZXZC)- On October 24, FAW-Volkswagen celebrated its 25,000,000th vehicle rolling off the production line at the assembly shop of the company’s Changchun base.

The vehicle which helped the automaker achieved the milestone was a Tavendor, FAW-Volkswagen’s five-seater SUV model. According to the automaker, its 20,000,000th vehicle rolled off line on March 30, 2020, signifying that it took the company two years and seven months to realize the new record. Notably, FAW-Volkswagen said that it is so far the only passenger vehicle maker in China to produce and sell 5 million vehicles from 2020 to date. 

On the other hand, the memorable vehicle, the Tavendor, is the endgame of FAW-Volkswagen’s SUV strategy, which has kicked off presale on October 13 this year. The Tavendor offers four trim levels to choose from, with a price range of 276,900-327,900 yuan ($37,900-$44,880). 

The SUV is powered by a 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder engine that, with a maximum power of 162kW and 137kW, respectively, depending on trim levels. The vehicle is installed with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and a four-wheel drive system. 

The Tavendor can be expected to hit market for sale in mid-November.
