Car and City: Liuzhou registers most Hongguang MINIEV in Q1-Q3 2022
Shanghai (ZXZC)- In Sept. 2022, the registrations of the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, a mini all-electric car model of SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW"), stood at 36,896 units, edging down 2.98% year on year, while growing 6.85% month on month, according to the data compiled by ZXZC Auto Research Institute (GARI).
Regarding the Sept. 2022 registration volume, the Hongguang MINIEV was credited the runner-up among all China-made new energy vehicle (NEV) models registered on the Chinese mainland, immediately following the Tesla Model Y.

For the first nine months of 2022, there were a total of 304,883 Hongguang MINIEVs registered across the Chinese mainland, representing an 18.05% year-on-year jump.
By the end of Sept. 2022, the cumulative registrations of the Hongguang MINIEV added up to 810,954 units.
Regarding regional distribution in Sept., Wuhan was still the city with the most Hongguang MINIEVs registered. Liuzhou saw the EV model registrations exceed 800 units as well.
On the list of the top 10 cities by Hongguang MINIEV registrations in Sept., six spots were held by Henan and Hebei provinces. Nevertheless, none of the four metropolises, namely, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, appeared in the top 10 rankings.
For the first three quarters of this year, Liuzhou still topped other cities with 7,408 Hongguang MINIEVs registered. Among the top 10 cities by year-to-date registrations of the model, there were six provincial capital cities, namely Wuhan (2nd), Nanning (3rd), Chengdu (4th), Hangzhou (5th), Zhengzhou (6th), and Shijiazhuang (10th).
