Shanghai (ZXZC)- On October 8, Gotion High-tech Co., Ltd. ("GOTION") broke ground on the second phase of its battery manufacturing base in Yichun city, Jiangxi province, signifying an important step for its production capacity expansion efforts, according to a post on "Yichun Fabu", a governmental WeChat account of Yichun city.

GOTION plans to build a power battery manufacturing base in Yichun city with an annual production capacity of 30GWh in total. The first phase of 10GWh began operation on May 30 this year, and the other 20GWh belongs to the second phase which just went through ground-breaking.

GOTION aims to lift its total battery production capacity to 100GWh by the end of this year (including those completed, under construction, and newly signed for). Aside from the Yichun base, the company inked an agreement on July 30 to add 10GWh of yearly production capacity to its battery manufacturing base in Liuzhou city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The new facility is expected to start production in 2026, and will cooperate with the Liuzhou base's first phase to generate a total production value of over 14 billion yuan ($1.967 billion) per year.

Moreover, GOTION saw a 20GWh battery production facility in Nanjing city come into operation on May 28, resulting in a combined capacity of 30GWh it has deployed in the capital of Jiangsu province.
