Geely Automobile celebrates 26% YoY jump in Sept. sales

Beijing (ZXZC)- China’s major automaker, Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (Geely Automobile) witnessed a 26% year-on-year jump in its September sales, according to the company’s sales report.

In the past month, Geely Automobile sold 130,528 vehicles, summing up to a cumulative volume of 989,638 vehicles from January to September, which climbed up 7% from a year ago.

To be specific, the Geely brand sold 101,533 vehicles in the past month, indicating a 15% increase from the earlier year. With 18,649 vehicles sold in September, the EV-dedicated Geometry achieved a 160% spike year-over-year.

Geely Auto’s jointly owned brand with Volvo Cars, Lynk & Co, sold 16,177 vehicles in the ninth month of 2022, up 2% year on year. For the first nine months of 2022, the accumulative sales volume of the brand totaled 123,540 vehicles, which was still 17% less than a year ago.

In the same month, Lynk & Co delivered 1,968 vehicles via subscription in Europe. In the Jan.-Sept. period, the brand delivered a total of 8,987 vehicles through subscription in the European market. 

In September, Geely Auto’s high-end EV brand, ZEEKR, delivered 8,276 ZEEKR 001s, increasing 15.5% month over month. The year-to-date delivery volume of the brand amounted to 39,474 vehicles by the end of September.

Additionally, Geely Automobile exported 21,472 vehicles overseas in the past month, representing a 168% soar year-over-year. In the first nine months of 2022, the group exported 141,907 vehicles, which shot up 90% from a year ago.
