Chery Holding scores 37.3% YoY jump in Jan.-Sept. auto sales

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chery Holding sold 145,380 vehicles in Sept. 2022, representing a 92.1% robust growth compared to the same span of 2021 and refreshing its monthly sales record for the third month in a row, the automobile group announced today.

For the first nine months of 2022, Chery Holding saw its year-to-date sales jump 37.3% over a year earlier to 893,930 units.

As for respective performance of each unit, Chery Automobile sold 112,980 vehicles (+112.6% YoY) in Sept., resulting in a Jan.-Sept. sales volume of 679,863 units (+55% YoY).

As Chery brand's main sales drivers, the Tiggo 8 and the Tiggo 7 series recorded a year-to-date global sales volume of around 141,400 units and 119,700 units, respectively.

The EXEED brand posted a 111.5% year-on-year soar in its Sept. sales, which stood at 7,840 units. It sold 36,412 vehicles cumulatively through the first three quarters, a 67% growth over the prior-year period.

The group also sold 19,018 vehicles under the JETOUR brand last month, representing an 89.6% spike year-over-year. The year-to-date sales of JETOUR's vehicles came in at 115,734 units, rising 11.8% over the previous year.

Chery Holding announced a new energy vehicle (NEV) sales volume of 22,185 units for the month of Sept., shooting up 135.8% over the previous year. The group's year-to-date NEV sales rocketed 190.7% year over year to 188,539 units.

Chery Holding launched the “Yaoguang 2025” strategy in mid-Sept. to let the public know about Chery’s cutting-edge technologies, which cover the four core areas of Mars Architecture, Kunpeng Power, Lion Technology and Galaxy Ecology. Based on this, Chery plans to invest 100 billion yuan ($14.053 billion) over the next five years in technology R&D.
