SAIC MAXUS puts 80 MIFA fuel cell MPVs into operation via SAIC’s mobility service platform

Shanghai (ZXZC)- The first 80 MAXUS MIFA fuel cell MPVs from SAIC MAXUS has been put into operation in Shanghai through Xiangdao Chuxing, the mobility service platform of SAIC Motor, according to a press release issued by SAIC MAXUS today.

The hydrogen-powered MAXUS MIFA embodies the automaker's fuel cell technology breakthroughs in the passenger vehicle (PV) field. The company said the model is equipped with the next-generation air filtration system capable of 99.9% particulate matter PM2.5 removal. As for safety guarantee, the vehicle's hydrogen cylinder can endure an extreme high temperature of up to 842 degree Celsius and a high pressure of 70Mpa as it is wrapped by aerospace-level carbon fiber materials with a thickness of 25mm.

The MAXUS MIFA FCV adopts the 130kW fuel cell stack and the 70Mpa hydrogen storage system, coupled with a high-performance "three-in-one" bridge, allowing a 6.4kg high-pressure hydrogen cylinder to be filled up within only three to five minutes. One hydrogen refueling session supports a driving distance of around 605km. Besides, the model's hydrogen consumption is only 1.18kg per 100 kilometers.

The seven-seater hydrogen-powered MPV model is installed with the Qiyuan P390 fuel cell system in-house developed by Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion Technology Co., Ltd. ("SHPT"), SAIC Motor's subsidiary focusing on the development and manufacturing of fuel cell stacks and systems.
