XPeng: CATL is no longer the biggest battery supplier

Hongdi Brian Gu, president of XPeng Inc., claimed in an interview that CATL is no longer the company’s biggest source of battery, as XPeng has made diversification arrangements regarding its battery suppliers. The adjusted list of suppliers will help with the launch of the new G9 model. Other quality battery suppliers of XPeng include EVE Energy and CALB.

SERES works with CATL on M3P battery to cut reliance on precious metal 

SERES disclosed that the company is working with CATL in power batteries, including the collaborative M3P new-type battery. The M3P battery is able to offer an improved performance and range while cutting cost and reliance on precious metal like cobalt. 

CATL applies for M3P trademark

According to China’s corporate database Tianyancha, CATL has recently filed for two “M3P” trademarks under the international category of scientific instrument, transportation facility.
