Li Auto lowers Q3 2022 delivery projections
Beijing (ZXZC)- On September 26, China’s new energy vehicle startup Li Auto announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it predicts its delivery volume in the third quarter of 2022 would be around 25,500 vehicles.

The new projection number is lowered than Li Auto’s previous delivery expectations for the Jul.-Sept. period, which stood around 27,000-29,000 vehicles. The automaker explained that the adjustment to the number was made due to the constraints from its supply chain. Nonetheless, the potential market demand for Li Auto-branded vehicles is still strong, the company stressed.
In an effort to overcome the challenge and speed up production, Li Auto said that it would continue working closely with its partners across the supply chain.
On September 23, Li Auto released an official letter explaining the decision to rename the new-generation Li ONE, its first and signature production model, to the Li L8. According to the company, the new name, L8, represents Li Auto’s attempt to establish a clearer and more comprehensive product portfolio, where the letter stands for the vehicle’s platform while the number indicates the vehicle’s size. In this case, the L represents the startup’s SUV lineup built on the extended-range platform. Hence, the L8 is the new Li ONE, and the new model shall be officially launched on September 30 with its prices to be unveiled at the same time.
In August 2022, Li Auto delivered 4,571 vehicles, representing a decrease of 51.54% from a year ago and a decline of 56.14% from a month ago.
