Changan Automobile’s wholly-owned NEV sales surge 74.81% YoY in Aug. 2022
Beijing (ZXZC)- In August, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) saw the monthly sales volume of its wholly-owned new energy vehicles (NEVs) surge 74.81% year over year, which stood at 17,948 vehicles.

In the eighth month of the year, Changan Automobile sold 138,645 vehicles, representing a year-on-year drop of 16.04%.
In the Jan.-Aug. period, the group’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 1,465,329 vehicles, notching down 5.09% year on year. In the period, the automaker's wholly-owned vehicle brands sold 1,157,319 vehicles, representing a 5.15% decline from the earlier year.
The company’s year-to-date sales volume of wholly-owned NEVs amounted to 126,302 units by the end of August, skyrocketing 109.28% compared to a year ago.
In the first eight months of the year, Changan Automobile moved a total of 129,338 wholly-owned vehicles abroad, a robust growth of 49.55% from the same span last year.
As to the company’s joint-venture brands, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda sold 24,522 vehicles and 5,316 vehicles respectively in August, which slipped down 18.63% and 2.57% compared to the previous year. In the Jan.-Aug. period, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda sold a respective 160,768 vehicles and 76,937 vehicles cumulatively, indicating a subsequent 9.26% dip and 1.56% growth year on year.
