Sunwoda EVB launches super-fast-charging battery SFC480
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Sunwoda Electric Vehicle Battery Co., Ltd. ("Sunwoda EVB"), the power battery maker wholly owned by Sunwoda Electronic Co Ltd., on Sept. 3 celebrated the launch of its first mass-produced super-fast-charging battery, SFC480.
Using the newly launched battery, an EV can be charged at a rate of up to 480kW and boasts a range of 700kW with one full charging session, according to the company. Besides, a five-minute charging can offer an EV a range of around 200km.

Fast-charging batteries can be categorized in different standards, under which the 4C enables 80% battery capacity retention to be reached within 15 minutes, while it only takes 10 minutes for the 6C. The SFC480 battery of Sunwoda EVB can meet the 4C standard.
At the launch ceremony, Zhang Yao, vice president of Sunwoda EVB, revealed that the SFC480 battery will be put into volume production this year. The battery can support up to 50,000 charge-discharge cycles.
Mr. Zhang added that the SFC480 features innovations in materials usage, battery structure, as well as battery assembly technique, and the iteration still continues. The company expects the battery structure to evolve into CTC (cell-to-chassis) from the current CTP (cell-to-pack), and the maximum range will be lifted from 700km to 1,100km in 2026.
Sunwoda has so far formed partnerships for its EV battery business with such automakers as Renault, Nissan, eGT, Geely Auto, Dongfeng Motor, GAC Group, SGMW, and SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle. It has also built power battery manufacturing bases in cities like Huizhou, Nanjing, Nanchang, Zaozhuang, and Zhuhai.
