SAIC Motor boasts 43.74% YoY surge in July 2022 sales
Shanghai (ZXZC)- SAIC Motor announced today its auto sales reached 506,760 units in July 2022, surging 43.74% year on year, while also growing 4.79% month on month. Notably, it was the highest monthly sales the auto giant achieved so far this year.
Last month, SAIC-GM-Wuling (“SGMW”) topped other subsidiaries with a sales volume of 145,017 units. Both SAIC Volkswagen and SAIC-GM posted a two-digit year-over-year increase in July sales.
SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company, the passenger vehicle unit wholly-owned by SAIC Motor, saw its July sales zoom up 72.8% from a year earlier. The sales of the Roewe i5, the MG ZS, and the MG5 all exceeded 10,000 units.
The sales of IM Motors, a premium electric vehicle maker backed by SAIC Motor, Alibaba Group, and Zhangjiang High-Tech, were included in the group's monthly sales results for the first time. Last month, there were 816 IM L7s sold, resulting in 1,051 units in its year-to-date sales.

For the first seven months of this year, the Shanghai-based auto group sold a total of 2,741,051 vehicles, indicating a 3.44% year-on-year growth, recovering from the 2.74% decline in cumulative sales for the first half of this year.
The monthly sales data show that SAIC Motor's new energy vehicle (“NEV”) sales stood at 105,521 units last month, surging 118.07% over the previous year. During the same month, the group saw its export volume and sales of overseas markets total 98,025 units, up 91.28% year over year.
