Honda Motor sees China sales jump 23.5% YoY in July 2022
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Honda Motor announced today its monthly China sales reached 133,556 units in July 2022, jumping 23.5% from a year earlier, while sliding 5.4% from the previous month.
The Japanese automaker said it had achieved a year-on-year increase in sales for two straight months in China.
As for the sales of the two joint ventures, GAC Honda saw its July sales rise 10.2% over a year ago to 68,337 units, while Dongfeng Honda scored a remarkable 41.4% year-on-year increase by selling 65,219 vehicles last month.
For the first seven months of 2022, Honda Motor sold 812,784 vehicles across China, reflecting a 9.2% year-on-year decrease due to the impact of the coronavirus resurgence and the supply constraints of auto parts.
The year-to-date sales of vehicles armed with the hybrid powertrain system “Sport Hybrid” added up to 120,961 units, sliding 10.8% compared to the same span of 2021.
With 419,541 vehicles sold in total, GAC Honda posted a 1.7% year-on-year decline in its Jan.-Jul. sales. Meanwhile, a two-digit dip of 16% confronted Dongfeng Honda's year-to-date sales, which stood at 393,243 units.
In August, the all-new XR-V from Dongfeng Honda will go on sale to further enrich and update Honda's China product lineup.
