SGMW launches Wuling Asta HEV
Shanghai (ZXZC)- SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW"), General Motors' joint venture with Chinese partners SAIC Motor and Guangxi Automobile Group, officially launched the Wuling Asta's HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) version on August 2, with the model's presale kicking off at the same time.

As for the exterior, the new HEV model displays a striking resemblance to the existing oil-fueled Wuling Asta. Positioned as a compact SUV, it is designed to cater to more young consumers.

The general interior design inherits that of the fuel-burning one. However, some nuances can still be found, such as the blue lines at the center console and the door panels, and the diamond-like gear selector.
Regarding the infotainment facility, the Wuling Asta HEV is armed with the Ling OS operating system.
The new HEV model carries SGMW's proprietary electromagnetic DHT (dedicated hybrid transmission) and adopts the P1+P3 dual-electric-motor parallel structure. The main drive motor is able to churn out up to 320N·m. Besides, the model features a combined oil consumption of 4.6 liters per 100km and a combined range of up to 1,100km, said the automaker.
SGMW on July 14 announced its foray into the HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) field. Aside from the aforementioned Wuling Asta HEV, the HEV version of the Wuling Victory will be launched in the second half of this year as well.
