Changan Automobile‘s wholly-owned NEV sales soar 127.26% YoY in H1 2022
Beijing (ZXZC)- In the sixth month of 2022, Changan Automobile saw its wholly-owned new energy vehicle sales grow year over year.
In June, Changan Automobile sold 207,430 vehicles, increasing 19.87% from a year ago. In the first half of 2022, the automaker’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 1,125,764 vehicles, notching down 6.25% year on year.

In first six months of the year, Changan Automobile sold 900,020 units of Changan-branded vehicles, slipping 6.79% over the previous year. With 629,175 vehicles sold, the auto group’s wholly-owned passenger vehicle segment saw a 4.61% year-on-year drop.
Notably, Changan Automobile sold 18,268 wholly-owned new energy vehicles in June, representing a 33.12% jump from the year-ago period. In 2022, the automaker sold 84,958 Changan-branded new energy vehicles by the end of June, skyrocketing 127.26% compared to the earlier year.
In addition, the automaker is doing exceptionally well aboard. In the first half of 2022, Changan Automobile sold 101,674 wholly-owned vehicles overseas, soaring 94.39% from the same span last year.
As to the company’s joint venture brands, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda sold 27,170 vehicles and 10,394 vehicles respectively in June, rising 24.91% and 3.24% compared to the previous year. In the first six months of 2022, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda sold a respective 112,643 vehicles and 63,655 vehicles cumulatively, indicating a subsequent 6.9% dip and 5.51% growth year on year.
