The RX5 is installed with a visual compass (Si Nan) intelligent driving system as the first of its category. The model is also equipped with an AI computing platform composed of three units of Horizon Robotics’ Journey 3 chips, realizing NGP function, making the RX5 the first oil-fueled vehicle with intelligent navigation assistant driving technology.
The three Journey 3 chips offer a combined 15 TOPS of AI computing power, and 1266 FPS of perception computing performance, which is far more efficient than the regular 30 TOPS/840 FPS GPU.
The three chips can work flexibly, supporting a 360° perception system consisting of 28 sensors. Moreover, its leading planning, decision, and executive control capabilities do not equal high power consumption. The three-chip intelligent driving domain controller realizes passive hear dissipation, ensuring the safety and reliability of the system while consuming a low amount of power.
In addition, Horizon Robotics and SAIC Motor’s passenger vehicle subsidiary, SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company, will launch more vehicle models equipped with Horizon Robotics’ Journey 2, Journey 3, and Journey 5 chips.
