SGMW’s Wuling Jia Chen MPV starts at 68,800 yuan

Shanghai (ZXZC)- SAIC-GM-Wuling (“SGMW”), General Motors' joint venture with Chinese partners SAIC Motor and Guangxi Automobile Group, launched on June 15 the all-new seven-seater family MPV model, the Wuling Jia Chen.

The MPV is available in five trim levels with four exterior color options. It is priced between 68,800 yuan ($10,270) and 99,800 yuan ($14,900).

As for the Jia Chen's exterior, its front end features a massive chrome-plated grille with the silver Wuling logo at the center, delivering a similar design idea to that of the Wuling Victory. At the rear, the lettering “Wuling” is seamlessly connected with the taillights on both sides, accentuating the model's width. The spiffy side profile coupled with a floating sunroof adds typical dynamism to the vehicle.

The Jia Chen MPV measures 4,785mm long, 1,820mm wide, and 1,760mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,760mm.

The cockpit adopts a “2+2+N” seating arrangement to meet the demands of modern families. The Jia Chen’s rear seats can be lower or folded forward to achieve a cargo volume of up to 1,177 liters.

It is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with an 8-speed continuously variable transmission, which can deliver a combined fuel efficiency of 7.2 liters per 100km.

The Jia Chen also features a high-strength steel cage body structure design, along with several additional safety features like four air bags. The entire model series comes standard with ABS (anti-lock braking) and EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) systems.

The Wuling Jia Chen is armed with the automaker's in-house developed smart car system “Ling OS”, which supports a slew of functions including vehicle status monitoring, remote switch air conditioning and Bluetooth key sharing.
