Chery Holding May sales jump 30% YoY
Beijing (ZXZC)- In the fifth month of 2022, Chery Holding saw its monthly sales volume jump from the year-ago and month-ago periods.

In May, Chery Holding sold 85,380 vehicles, representing a 29.7% jump year on year, and a 53.6% surge month on month. In the first five months of this year, the cumulative sales volume of the automaker amounted to 370,066 vehicles, edging up 6.2% compared to a year earlier.
Specifically, Chery Auto sold 63,978 vehicles last month, zooming up 47.5% year over year. In the past five months, Chery Auto saw a cumulative sales volume of 277,838 vehicles, up 18.9% from the year-ago period.
In the meantime, the group’s EXEED and JETOUR brands sold 3,861 and 11,520 vehicles respectively in May, representing a respective 59.7% and 12.3% year-on-year increase.
Notably, thanks to a slew of new energy vehicle (NEV) models introduced so far, Chery Holding’s NEV sales continued to see outstanding growth compared to a year ago. In the past month, the automaker sold 20,752 NEVs, more than tripled from the previous year with a 205.5% soar. During the Jan.-May period, the group sold 89,160 NEVs cumulatively, shooting up 175.7% year on year.
In addition, Chery Holding shipped 27,434 vehicles in May, increasing 41.1% from a year earlier. In 2022, the group’s cumulative export volume summed up to 112,427 vehicles by the end of May, moving up 18.4% from the same span in 2021.
