Beijing (ZXZC)- On May 30th, FAW Group’s mainstay wholly-owned brand, Hongqi, announced that it has mastered the technology of dual-motor dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) and saw its first dual-motor DHT go into mass production.

In an effort to strengthen FAW Group’s layout in the hybrid vehicle market, Hongqi first set up the project of developing its own dual-motor DHT in 2019.

The DHT adopts a series-parallel hybrid configuration, integrating deceleration, acceleration, and differential functions in one. The product supports complete hybrid working patterns, including battery-electric drive, serial drive, parallel drive, and direct engine drive. 

With a maximum input rev of 15000r/min, a maximum output torque of 3200Nm, maximum transmission efficiency of 98.6%, excellent NVH performance, and less than 350ms of direct drive mode switch time, Hongqi’s DHT offers low fuel consumption, strong pure-electric power, as well as quiet onboard experience. 

It took Hongqi 30 months to realize the volume production process from scratch. The product has passed 24 categories of bench tests and 10 categories of complete vehicle tests. The cumulative testing time surpassed 6,000 hours, which is equivalent to over 5 million kilometers of testing range.
