Under the agreement, CATL will provide Solaris the LFP batteries using its CTP (cell-to-pack) technology, so as to contribute to reducing carbon and pollutant emissions in Europe.

CATL said Solaris' electrified buses would feature significant advantages in safety and temperature adaptation thanks to the long service life and high thermal stability of CATL’s LFP batteries.

The CTP is a system that utilizes battery cells that are combined into packs without modules to reduce complexity, weight, space and cost. Using this technology, the battery energy density and efficient load of an electric bus will be evidently improved, which is conducive to the sustainable development of city transport, the battery giant added.

Solaris is one of the leading European bus and trolleybus manufacturers. By virtue of 25-year experience, it has so far manufactured more than 20,000 vehicles and influenced the quality of city transport in hundreds of cities across Europe. In terms of annual sales, Solaris ranked first in the European zero-emission bus market.

CATL also noted the new collaboration would further improve its global commercial vehicle business deployment and help the world achieve carbon neutrality as planned.
