BMW issues price increase in China starting June

Beijing (ZXZC)- BMW issued a price increase on models sold in the China market, including both China-made and imported vehicles, a local media outlet reported on May 15th.

The price rise varies from RMB1,000 to RMB10,100 ($147 to $1,487), and will take effect on June 1st. 

Specifically, BMW Brilliance made models subjective to the price lift are the X3 and 5 Series’ Li trims, with increases from RMB2,100 to RMB5,000 ($309 to $736). The lowest increase of RMB2,100 ($309) was issued on the X3 xDrive30i Pioneering, while the highest increase of RMB5,000 ($736) was issued on the 525 Li trims.

Meanwhile, affected imported models include the 5 Series (standard), the 4 Series (coupe, convertible, and 4-door trims), the X4, and the 6 Series GT. The price rise on the imported models ranges from RMB1,000 to RMB10,100 ($147 to $1,487). The 530i and the 540i have the slightest increase in price at RMB1,000 ($147), and the 2-door 4 Series saw its price climb up RMB10,100 ($1,487). 

According to BMW, the new and adjusted price will be enforced on June 1st 2022. Customers who have placed orders on or before May 31st and completed purchase after June 1st will be compensated by dealers correspondingly.  

The price lift is said to be an outcome of the ongoing pandemic and the price hike of commodities and raw materials worldwide.
