Honda Feb. China sales refresh same-month record
Beijing (ZXZC)- In the second month of 2022, Honda Motor Company managed a 30% jump in sales in China compared to a year ago, setting a new February sales record, the company announced on March 3rd.

In February, the Japanese automaker sold a total of 106,084 vehicles in China, increasing 30.1% year on year. Its two joint ventures both saw positive growth and refreshed their ownhistorical same-month sales records. To be specific, GAC Honda sold 51,177 vehicles in February, representing a 39.9% rise compared to a year ago. In the meantime, Dongfeng Honda achieved a 22.1% year-on-year increase, with 54,907 vehicles sold.
In the first two months of 2022, Honda’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 252,725 vehicles in China, up 5.7% versus the previous year.
The sales volume of the automaker’s two-motor SPORT HYBRID system-powered models summed up to 36,297 vehicles in the first two months of this year, growing 9.9% from a year ago. The cumulative sales of GAC Honda equaled 131,150 vehicles, while Dongfeng Honda came short by roughly 10,000 vehicles, at 121,575 units sold.
Notably, Dongfeng Honda is said to take over Dongfeng Motor’s other joint venture, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën’s Wuhan second factory, for electric vehicle production.
