Geely Auto fulfills 87% of 2021’s sales target, eyeing 1.65 million vehicles for 2022’s sales

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (called “Geely Auto” for short) announced on Thursday that the annual sales of the Group (collectively referring to Geely Auto and its subsidiaries) amounted to 1,328,029 units in 2021, edging up 1% from the previous year and achieving 87% of the Group's yearly sales target of 1.53 million units.

For the month of December 2021, Geely Auto and its subsidiaries sold 158,765 new vehicles, representing a 3% increase year-on-year and a 17% jump month-on-month.

Of the new vehicles sold last month, 18,813 units were new energy and electrified vehicles (NEEVs), a robust growth of 162% compared to the year-ago period. For clarity, Geely Auto's NEEVs merely included all-electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), represented by key models like Geometry A, the Geometry C, and the Emgrand EV.

Last month, the Group's export volume leapt 44% over a year earlier to 17,125 units. For the year of 2021, the Group exported 115,008 vehicles in total, a 58% growth from a year ago.

During the same period, the monthly sales of LYNK & CO-branded stood at 25,846 units (+4% YoY), resulting in 220,516 units in the brand’s full-year volume, a 26% growth year-on-year.

Geely Auto stressed that the Group's total auto sales volume, NEEV sales volume, export volume, and the sales volume of LYNK & Co-branded vehicles all hit monthly record high in December.

Since the start of scale delivery on Oct. 23, 2021, cumulative deliveries of the ZEEKR 001, the first production model under Geely's premium EV brand ZEEKR, had reached 6,007 units by the end of Dec. 2021, 3,796 units of which were delivered last month.

Geely Auto stated its board of directors has set the Group's annual sales target for the year of 2022 at 1.65 million units, representing an increase of 24% from the actual sales achieved in 2021.
