Dongfeng Motor sells 3.3 million vehicles in 2021

Beijing (ZXZC)- China’s major automaker, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, released its 2021 annual sales report on January 5th, and its wholly-owned passenger vehicle sector achieved outstanding results.

According to the automaker, in 2021, it sold 3.275 million vehicles in total, notching down 5.28% from a year ago.

However, the group’s wholly-own passenger vehicle brands grew substantially. The cumulative sales volume of the group’s passenger vehicles (PV) amounted to 2.577 million vehicles in the year. The wholly-owned brands saw a 32.2% year-on-year increase in annual sales, with 542,000 vehicles sold, while the group’s jointly-owned brands sold 2.035 million PVs.

To be specific, Dongfeng Motor’s premium EV brand, VOYAH, delivered 6,791 vehicles during its five months of delivery.

Dongfeng Fengshen sold 12,800 vehicles in December, jumping 57.4% compared to the previous year, selling consecutively over the 10,000-vehicle mark since May 2021. The accumulated sales volume of Fengshen summed up to 120,300 vehicles, soaring 71.4% from a year ago.

The group’s Dongfeng Fengxing brand sold 122,200 vehicles in 2021, representing a 26.8% increase year on year.

As to Dongfeng Motor’s joint ventures, Dongfeng Nissan sold 1 million vehicles in 2021, while 81,000 vehicles were sold from the Venucia brand, notching up 0.6% from a year ago.

The accumulated sales volume of Dongfeng Honda equaled to 761,900 vehicles during the year. Dongfeng Yueda Kia, on the other hand, sold 163,400 vehicles.

Moreover, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën accomplished its 2021 annual sales target, with 100,600 vehicles sold, doubling the results in 2020.  

Finally, Dongfeng Motor reported 698,500 vehicles sold in its commercial vehicle sector in 2021.
